Section 8 Not-for-profit

About

About Sughavazhvu Healthcare

Sughavazhvu Healthcare is a Section 8 not-for-profit organisation committed to advancing healthcare access, strengthening community well-being and supporting sustainable social-development initiatives.

Established in 2008 under the earlier Section 25 framework, the organisation was founded on the belief that quality healthcare, preventive services and a healthier living environment should be accessible to every section of society.

In 2023, Sughavazhvu Healthcare entered a renewed phase of leadership and purpose under Mr. M. Muruganandam and Mrs. Sumathi Muruganandam, with an expanded commitment to developing responsible, inclusive and long-term initiatives for communities across Tamil Nadu.

Our work brings together hospital-based healthcare, preventive community outreach, public-health support and environmental responsibility.

“Keep Going. Keep Doing. Keep Giving.”

Our Story

From Vision to Reality

Sughavazhvu Healthcare has its roots in the Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli region of Tamil Nadu.

Its journey has evolved from supporting community health and social-development initiatives to building a broader platform that addresses preventive healthcare, public-health infrastructure, environmental sustainability and access to advanced medical treatment.

The comprehensive cancer care initiative emerged from a deeply personal understanding of the difficulties faced by families when essential oncology services are not available close to home.

After witnessing close family members travel approximately 300 to 350 kilometres from Tiruchirappalli to Chennai for cancer-related diagnosis and treatment, Mr. M. Muruganandam, Chairman of Excel Group of Companies and Director of Sughavazhvu Healthcare, recognised the urgent need to strengthen cancer care access within the region.

That experience became the foundation of a larger mission: to help ensure that distance, affordability and limited local access do not prevent patients from receiving timely and appropriate healthcare.

Dignity

Every person must be treated with dignity, irrespective of their economic or social circumstances.

Prevention

Early awareness, regular screening and timely intervention can improve health outcomes and reduce avoidable suffering.
